FILING on Linux
Filing on Linux is “FILING3”.
The current version of Filing3 is 48 (February 2026). Download it by
clicking here.
Steps for Linux are
- install Firebird version 2.5 (download from www.ibphoenix.com)
- any of the 3 server modes are
ok;
- create a folder for Filing - for example /home/myuser/filing
- download the Filing3 executable into this folder, and set permission to run it as an executable
- if you are migrating from Windows, run the UTF-8 compatibility check within Filing2 (in Windows) & resolve any issues found. Then copy the data file fdata.fdb to Linux.
- - otherwise copy an empty database "fdata.fdb” by clicking here.
- copy the filing database into Linux file system as /home/myuser/filing/data/fdata.fdb
- set permissions on this database file to Read & Write
